Problems faced by caregivers and families of people suffering from a mental illness are many. There are many times that just when they feel they have managed to master every possible situation that their ward can throw at them a new surprise springs like a jack in the box.

Today people have a service which they can call to get telephonic advice and actual emergency crisis care. Before that a bit on when a person can use this service.

When Can I Use The Emergency Line?

  1. Your ward gets violent: Alcoholics, drug addicts usually take to violence to take out their frustration. Schizophrenics, those suffering from dementia, bipolar disorder patients can get violent within a short second and create domestic havoc.
  2. Self harm: Many mentally ill people seriously consider and sometimes do previous harm to themselves.
  3. Many times the patient will not listen to the family and do as he/ she pleases; like go out alone, buy things without money, steal etc.
