A large part of the world suffers from different types of substance abuse. The effect of substance abuse extends towards a person’s physical, mental, and social health. What is Deaddiction?

Deaddiction means the detoxification of the human body and mind from substances with addictive properties including alcohol and drugs or certain behaviours.

It uses medical and therapeutic techniques aimed at helping persons reclaim their lives and not be bound by substance dependence.

Understanding Deaddiction Programs

The comprehensive de-addiction program entails specialised interventions designed to help individuals overcome addiction for at least 3 months or more, until a successful recovery.

We address both the medical and the psychological side of the addiction and provide a mechanism of course for the patients to begin the process of rehabilitation.

Types of Deaddiction Programs

There are different categories of deaddiction programs designed according to the patient's requirements.

Inpatient services offer a more constant and vigorous treatment in a confined environment while outpatients allow the individual to participate in daily activities with some limitations.

Other programs may involve partial hospitalisation, residential treatment, or aftercare services.

Key Components of a Successful Deaddiction Program

Evaluating the effectiveness of deaddiction programs, multiple factors are vital for the endeavor's long-term success.

These elements combine to meet the challenge of attaining a comprehensive understanding of a subject as complicated as addiction.

Medical Detoxification

Biomedical intervention is the initial process of detoxification in the deaddiction process. It entails detoxification of the body with reduced experiences of withdrawal symptoms and orientation of the person to other treatments.

Psychological Counselling

Psychotherapy is necessary to treat the psychological functions of sickness. In one-on-one or even a group setting people pinpoint the root cause of their substance use disorder and learn how to handle the stress that comes with recovery.

Peer Support Groups

Self-help groups used by people in the same category as the patients create social relations.

It is a platform where people can speak of their problems and get to know how others handled the same problems, as well as get morale support.

Holistic Therapies

Other therapies like yoga, meditation or art therapy are also part of the treatment plan as they can influence the mind, body and soul.

These therapies are geared at enhancing the general health of the affected persons and assisting them in regaining their true inner selves during rehabilitation.

Family involvement

It is important that families stay engaged and involved in this process. Through therapy sessions and other informative sessions, the families learn more about the illness and how to assist the affected individuals during the treatment process and afterwards.

Choosing the Right Deaddiction Program

Choosing an appropriate deaddiction program can help one to follow through the recovery process. The following factors should be considered when making your choice.

Factors to Consider

Selecting a deaddiction program should involve taking into consideration a number of factors such as the kind of addiction program that is being offered, the length of the program, the qualifications of the personnel involved, and whether there is a provision for follow-up after the program is complete.

Assessment of the practices also involves looking at the overall treatment model used in the program as well as the extent to which it employs empirically supported interventions.

Questions to Ask Deaddiction Program Providers

When it comes to selecting deaddiction programs, potential patients should not reserve their questions about the provider’s approach to treatment, prognosis, and the kinds of therapies included.

Ask the extent to which families are involved, if peer support groups are available, and other resources that can help in the recovery process.

Success Stories: Real-Life Recovery Journeys

It is always encouraging to hear from people who have successfully transitioned and left behind substance dependency. Below are two real-life accounts of the recovery process.

Overcoming Alcohol Dependence

One individual's journey of overcoming alcohol dependence involved a combination of medical detox, counselling, and participation in a 12-step program. With the support of family and peers, they achieved long-term sobriety and rebuilt their lives.

Triumphing Over Drug Addiction

Another success story highlights the power of a holistic approach. Through medical treatment, therapy, and alternative therapies like meditation and yoga, this individual was able to overcome drug addiction and regain control over their future.

Navigating Challenges and Relapse Prevention

It is important to accept that recovery is a lifelong process and that setbacks are to be expected. Knowledge of these issues may assist in relapse prevention.

Common Challenges in Recovery

Some issues faced during recovery include coping with triggers, stressors and the temptation of relapse.

Another factor that can really make learning difficult includes fluctuations in moods and pressures from social relationships.

Strategies for Relapse Prevention

Include the establishment of a support system, the use of mindfulness and a relapse prevention strategy.

Counselling sessions and constant participation in a peer support group should also be useful in overcoming relapse.

Resources and Support for Families

Families have a tremendous part to play in the process of recovery. Knowing how to help can make all the difference if it’s a friend or family that is suffering from the disease of addiction.

Understanding the Impact on Families

It impacts family life as members become stressed, confused, and strained in their interactions due to addiction.

Awareness of the problem is the first stage in the process of recovery from addiction because it affects the entire family.

How Families Can Support Recovery?

Relevant roles for families include learning more about addiction disease, taking advantage of education and therapy sessions for the family, and being able to engage in dialogue with the affected individuals.

Thus, one of the critical factors that play a role in defining the program is the ability to create stabilisation and a positive environment for recovery.

Testimonials

Cadabams were quite beneficial against my alcoholism. My life had been absolutely shattered as a result of it. I was able to get my life back on track thanks to a brief program here. Thank you very much.

Manikantan

This place changed my life. Would recommend it to everyone for recovery.

Malini

This is one of the most well-planned and thought-out rehabilitation centers in India. I was diagnosed with substance Induced psychosis a couple of times before and was admitted here. To be honest I found it very harsh at first and sometimes they really frustrate you and curtail your freedom a lot. But when you look at the bigger picture they try to inculcate discipline and good habits which is the most effective weapon to tackle substance abuse.

Abhimanyu Verma

Anunitha gives hope, comfort, professional support when you need it the most. Dr. Priya is amazing. As for Ms. Raji, she's outstanding in her depth of understanding and tracking all the residents. Her thoughtful advice has been most valuable. I am very grateful for all the help my family member has received. Thank you!

Difference between Rehab and In-Patient

Rehabilitation

  • Continued Care and Monitoring in a setting that feels like home
  • Focuses on long-term recovery that is sustainable.
  • Involves the family over the treatment course to ensure sustainable recovery.
  • Round-the-clock assistance for the individual, with all basic needs cared for.
  • Most important step towards recovering from psychiatric illnesses.

IP Care

  • Hospital setting for care in acute situations
  • Focuses on immediate relieving of symptoms in case of emergencies
  • Mainly involves the treating team that focuses on symptoms reduction
  • Individuals will need a family member with them in case of emergencies
  • The first step is seeking care for acute mental health disorders, after which rehabilitation may be necessary or not
