A Journey to the Mystery Island

“That was a complete fantasy world, I won’t mind calling that spot as Mars, Jupiter, or even Venus… whatever it might be, it was a flawless feel and a … a… yard full of HD colours. Those spells came true by an array of white powder sniffed by well-rolled currency note placed on my dining table”. What if I told you these 3 lines 54 words and 240 characters spoken by my friends made me a fanatic addict for the past 10 years.

It took a lot of courage, maturity to accept the fact that “Yes! Am an addict and am ashamed of it”. When I realized all my faults my family was not with me. For each and every individual who’s involved with any kind of substance abuse habit, one thing is for sure. “You will lose all your loved ones” just for a pocket of powder. This is ‘How cocaine shattered my family’.

The Bad Influence

Am a 45-year-old responsible father and an effective graphics designer in a famous studio. For the sake of holding on to my job – I had to be more creative, for that, I used to take a little amount of drug whenever it was needed or required. I was effective in a complete role for a big budget movie which made my vision a little blur towards family side for a while.
This situation influenced my daughter to use drugs. I was completely unaware of my daughter’s situation until my wife took her to a professional. Then I came to know she was addicted to drugs for at least 2 years. I feel embarrassed and guilty for my behaviour. I set the wrong role model for her. This is ‘How cocaine shattered my family’.

The Voices of None

Am a young adult who feels nervous, anxious, depressed and panics when it comes to hearing voices that isn’t real. The voices were clear and sound and that made me weak. After hearing the result from the doctor I came to know it is a kind of mental illness called schizophrenia.

Though the professionals told that it can be easily manageable since you are at the starting point of the disorder. When I heard am suffering from a mental disorder, I felt sick and I would have liked to follow the medication and therapies. In spite, I took cocaine to escape from reality and forget my symptoms for a little while.
